Ryder Cup and South Bend

I have secured my tickets to the Ryder Cup at Medinah Country Club the weekend of Sept 29 and 30. It is a bye weekend for the Irish, which is a positive and negative. Because I will be attending the Ryder Cup both days, I wouldn't be able to get to a game, but being that close, I would love to have the opportunity. I will be sure to travel up to the campus (thus losing my South Bend virginity). I am stoked to see weekend action at Ryder Cup and trip up to the most beautiful campus one could imagine in the same trip. I'm either going Fri before or Mon after the golf. Anyone else on the board attending the Ryder Cup? As an aside, my wife said this trip could serve as our Anniversary trip, even though it's almost 2 months after the actual date of the anniversary, she's a keeper. Can't wait. Go USA and go Irish.

The countdown is on. Headed out Thurs the 27th. Fri the 28th me and the wife head to South Bend for the day and we have weekend passes for the Ryder Cup. Fly home Mon. Just found out yesterday I could have passes for all 3 days, but because I want to visit campus, I turned down the Fri pass. Can't wait. Go Irish, Go USA.

Just watched "The War by the Shore" on Golf Channel. (1991 Ryder Cup). That was intense stuff, there were a lot of little nuggets in there, pretty cool.

Have fun at the Ryder Cup.It's a magical event.
I got lucky to go to the 2008 RC in Louisville,KY at Valhalla Golf Club...but that's not the best part. My dad, I, and a couple of his friends were able to play the course 3 weeks prior to the tournament. Tournament conditions and the bleachers being built made it feel like we were in the Ryder Cup. It was a blast, and an amazing course.

Hope you enjoy; should be great. Wonder about the 5 American rookies and how they will fare. Ryder Cup can be tough with the additional pressure it puts on these guys. DLIII certainly catered to his long-hitters (esp. TW) by having the rough shaved down.


Wear a shirt that says "Muck Fichigan" or "I don't know what you're talking about" (with the Tate catch as a background) so that we know who you are. And be careful about screaming "Go Irish" by mistake on the weekend....the fans can be quite unruly on both sides; then again you might get some free Whiskey or beer

Screaming Go Irish would bring rounds of drinks from both sides, that's the plan I'm going with. Sun is a "Red out" as all USA fans are encouraged to wear red. We're in.

Had dinner at Shaws Crabhouse last night and Azinger was guest speaker. He was handed the wireless Mic and couldn't get it to work and he looked at us and said, "hey I went to Florida State, what do you expect"? Classic. Great stories about his own experiences in Ryder Cup play and hanging out w Boo Weekley. The Boo and Orangatang (spelling?) story was classic. Off to South Bend now!

Not quite sure at this time but they believe its either tongue or larynx. Originally they suspected lung but have since ruled that out. Thanks Bro.
