Matt Carufel, OG from St. Paul, MN, has picked three finalists and will decide two more. As it stands, Notre Dame, Minnesota and Iowa are in the hunt.
ND has offered Carufel, the only offensive guard with an Irish offer to this point. He attended junior day in April and hopes his official visit will be for the USC game.
"They do the same things that everybody does, but they have more to sell."
Compared to Minnesota and Iowa, yes Matt, they do.
Iowa and O-linemen are a tough match to beat. Ferentz and his staff can really coach the big boys up front. As most of us know, ND lost Eubanks to Iowa and he from the same school as Carufel. But so are Rashon Powers Neal and Ryan Harris.
Again, Carufel plays a position that ND is in dire need of. I can't think of any good reasons why he wouldn't choose ND over IA and MN, or any two others.
