Personally, I'm heartbroken.

Yeah, right!

Michigan out of AP Top 25

The winningest team in the history of college football team is unranked for the first time in seven years.

Michigan fell out of the Associated Press Top 25 on Sunday, ending a streak of 114 consecutive weeks in the rankings, which was the longest in the nation. The last poll that didn't include the Wolverines was Oct. 18, 1998.

I watched that game on Saturday. I was laughing at Michigan's lack of everything and happy for Barry and his Wisconsin team. Michigan is going to get routed by MSU and forget about beating the Buckeyes this year. Can the overrated WR's Avant and Breaston do something while watching a Freshman step up and make plays? Michigan flat out lacks any kind of leadership and it starts at the top with Carr!!!

The only way I could've been happier for Barry would be if he were coaching the Irish. Glad to see he beat Carr before he retired. I still think he's hanging up the headphones too early, but oh well, it's his decision.

The Buckeye game could get pretty ugly this year...

It probably won't as the F$@!eyes don't blow anybody out, even the Little Poor Sisters of Toledo that they play. Let's root for a 0-0 tie that goes on ad infinitum.

With the Wolverines imploding, the Irish have a shot to regain the winningest record of all time. I think the Irish were 3 behind going into the season.

Their defense is awesome. Too conservative on offense, but I'd take those 11 Buckeye defenders against ANYONE.

If Tressel steps on their b@lls on offense, they beat Texas.

Field goals suck.

It's always nice to see Michigan lose and the Badgers win was a nice treat. I swear, I get almost as much satisfaction watching them lose as I do when we win. And you can include Mich. St. and USC also. They lose and I just love it.

Good Lord...I finally found someone who hates the "F$@!eyes" as much as I do. LMAO. I always get a kick out of their cupcake schedule. The year that they one the NC, they beat powerhouses like San Diego ST. and Akron (I think). Way to go fellas. Way to freakin go.

Fellow Big Ten juggenauts UM and Iowa played Northern Illinois, Eastern Michigan, Ball State and Northern Iowa.

The whole big Ten plays soft. Penn State is a light 4-0 this year. Michigan State played Kent State and Hawaii before ND. The whole thing is a joke if you ask me.

I personally enjoyed watching Ohio State punch Iowa right in the mouth.

They played 8 home games that season...what a joke

....and Iowa (The fans think the team is much better then they actually are. I know, I live here. For the last time, Iowa is not a national power.)

That is only true b/c ND and Illinois were going through coaching changes. And it just so happened that Chicago had its most talented class in recent memory. Iowa really lucked out on that one.

AGREED x 100 and twice on Sunday.

Kirk Ferentz will be recruiting in Nebraska and the Dakotas as long as Weis and Zook are around.

I can't tell you how sick that made people that five of the best ten players in the state went to Iowa. Having Jones and Brown with ND and 12 verbals at the U of I makes things a bit better this year.

I have nothing to say about them one way or the other. It started in 1993 and it hasn't ended. Everyone knows the academics are there at ND. When it is the only argument we have, we have no argument.

Too many teams have become big thorns in the side. ND plays one of them Saturday and has already lost to another.

BC come back on the schedule in '07 I believe. They'd better be ready for that one. It can't get here soon enough.

Until then, I don't speak of them aloud.

Jigg - your main point - which is a great one - is TOO MANY TEAMS (not just BC) -- hence Weis.

BGI always talks about needing to win 4 out of every 5 years against teams like Mich. St., Purdue, BC, Pitt. It is just not about beating USC and Michigan. I don't have the exact stat (i am sure they are sub .500%) but suffice to say they are not .800% against these team. This is the difference between 6-5 and out of the top 25 and 8-3/9-2 and in Top 15. Then the years you beat USC and Mich you are 11-0 10-1 and in BCS and maybe National Champs.

For sure. It is the difference between 9-2 and 7-4 most times. The MSU, Purdue, BC and Pitt games can make or break your BCS chances.

Gotta get back to winning those games and home games...as Holtz did.
