During the broadcast Haden talked about Weis having a meeting at 6:15am Saturday w a player in the DogHouse. Thoughts on who that could be????

My bet is John Sullivan who DNP in MSU game. I hear he is disgruntled big time at his backup role behind Bob Morton.

Either him or Powers Neal since he was MIA.

You know, Sullivan was slated to be starting center until shortly before the Pitt game. I hope he's not too pissed off and decides to bolt. That O-line is thin as it is. Another defect would be a total disaster.

Rumors have it that he is 'looking' at options.....big mistake in junior year.

I thought I was the only one that noticed Sullivan's absence. The TV announcers don't mention substitutions except for backs or receivers. According to the ND Participation list Sullivan, Mattes, Duncan, and Turkovich didn't play against MSU. The starting OL of Morton, Stevenson, Santucci, Harris, and LeVoir are playing with little relief. Raridon was the only OL I saw listed.

The ND offense ran over 100 plays against MSU. 100 plays among 6 OLs. Back to the days of "60 minute men". And fans talked about the Spartan defenders being tired in the 4th Q.

Weis will need AT LEAST five commits in this next class on the O Line. Bartley Webb makes one. Aaron Brown sounds good.

They need a guy at each spot, then maybe another couple to go along with those.

This area is of huge concern for the program going forward.

We also need some stud Linebackers, Hoyte and Mays will be gone. Thank God for Maurice Crum. I could definitely see a freshman LB starting for us next season, if we can land one good enough. I like Scott Smith alot also.

Friends of his family from Greenwich. Clearly not the most reliable source but suffice to say he is not happy.

Smith and Kevin Washington will be good players.

KW wears #42. Gotta love that.

Eh, I'm not really sold on Mays. He seems like more of an interim starter. I think Smith is a much better player, he just need experience.

I don't know, we'll see how the season progresses. Regardless, Smith is starting next season. They don't have anyone else that I know of.

Mitchell Thomas is behind Mays on the two deep. I don't see Smith on the list, but he's obviously played.

Mays is solid. He's a fifth year guy and was waited his turn. He has great ability and plays the middle well. He hasn't had the opportunity.

Aero, I know for a fact that Mike Hart is sold on Mays.

I wouldn't expect the coaches to say any different, the guy is their starter. Even if they did like his backup, they're not gonna say it to anyone.

Look, its not like I think he's a bad player or anything, but I just think he didn't start until his 5th year for a reason. I think that depth chart has a lot more to do w/ experience than it does natural ability (which I accept is the right thing to do when you're talking about freshmen). Here, I'll put it another way. I think if Smith was a sophomore who had been on the roster last year we wouldn't even be having this discussion b/c Mays would never have gotten a chance to start.

He's played well in his first few games, but Smith has made plays too & in very limited time. If his play goes south at any point in the season, just don't be suprised if Minter to takes a long look at Smith.
