WSBT-TVUPDATE: Our reporter at the scene says she saw a young African American male being loaded into the ambulance. That person was conscious. A witness says someone got sick on board, and they didn't believe the person lost consciousness. The scene on the plane was NOT chaotic. There was one hour left on the flight when the man got sick.

Thanks for the update. I feel a little bit better.

Kevin Lewis just spoke with Jack Swarbrick who says it was not a player or coach, but a member of the Notre Dame athletic administration.

lol.... ok... Instead of reporting. Limit the i heard this and that. It would have gone more smoothly and with less anxiety like this....

"Just received word there a medical issue on board. Nothing has been confirmed."

But you throw out heart attack and this and that and throw everyone into a tizzy....

Team Reckless.

Hope it is minor and he is back to good health soon. He coached my son at youth camp this past summer, a very positive and encouraging man. Godspeed.

Just for eveyone who wanted someone's @ss to kick on the way the information came out - I heard the first report of this around midnight, and it was "reported" to the emergency dispatch and then "dispatched" as a possible "heart attack." Good point about making it vague, but I don't know. Does anyone have a breakdown for how many traveled aboard, team, coaches, admin, and others?

Very thankful that this was not as serious as originally thought. Hopefully Coach Jones just hadn't eaten because of the excitement of the day. Also, I am thankful that it wasn't someone who's family was hours away. I am guessing that his family is in South Bend with him since he has made his rounds as a coach. Hopefully all involved will be laughing today about how the rumor mill works. Did not matter to me who it was, a heart attack is a serious condition. I didn't pray for it not to be specific people, but rather whoever it was would be ok and that it was nothing serious. God does answer prayers! From what I read, sounds like he will be the next assistant when a spot opens. I pray that Coach Jones goes home today with a clean bill of health.
