@BretBielema: Have tried to get Notre Dame on in the past schedules, now UM is taking a break 2018-19. Will see what we can do for Wisco!

hahaha, good one, but you do have a point, it will be a while before we catch up considering it is only one game a year.

I'd hate to lose this series. I know it's been painful the past few seasons, but like others have said, UM and USC are the games I really get up for. UM, USC, and at least one military academy game for posterity's sake makes a true ND season. All the others (e.g. Stanford, Perdue) I can take or leave.

Per your AD

"This was either in place when I got here or it was a request that came shortly after I got here," Swarbrick said in a phone interview Wednesday. "I didn't even know it wasn't known, frankly. It had been cooked into our scheduling model for at least three years.

"I don’t think somehow (Michigan athletic director) Dave (Brandon) had been informed when he came aboard. When he called and we started talking about dates, I said, 'You know Dave, we had this bye built in and I scheduled games.' He was great. We just made it work.

"We're going to keep playing each other. It's important to both schools. This initiated with a request from up there years ago, and we said OK."

I'm sorry, but to drop this long time rivalry would be horrible imo. Too many people look forward to this game. I mean it has always been the #1 vs the #2 most winning teams in the nation. It would be at the same magnitude of Ohio State and Michigan dropping their rivalry...than neither team would have much to look forward too. Even if ND plays as an ACC team, this shouldn't effect these games. Plus, to play teams like Miami, Georgia Tech, VT, and others would be great, and this wouldn't be a "cupcake" schedule as most haters call it. I look for a series starting with Texas soon also, of they ditch the Big 12 and go independent.
