Zibby on offense?

What does everyone think about TZ playing offense? I read a reporter asking Tom about it and he say he will talk to C-dub. I think it would be a good thing. What do you guys think?

makes no sense to me. The offense doesn't need any help. The defense needs all the help it can get. God forbid he goes down for the year on an offensive play, that'd just kill the defense.

To be honest, as good as he's been I still cringe when I see him back there returning punts sometimes. I'm a Giants fan and it gives me bad memories of Jason Seahorn returning a kickoff in the preseason...

I remember someone suggesting he be moved to linebacker earlier this year. This might be a bit further of a stretch.

I think special teams and defense are enough responsibility for him.

Because he is a defensive player and a dang good one, the offense doesn't need any help. He plays more like a linebacker as he often takes bad angles.

Sorry I feel it is a bad idea. He would be exhausted by the end of the third quarter and besides the offense is fine. As far as him playing linebacker - he is perfect for stuffing the run as a safety. As a linebacker, he would have a fat lineman to deal with all day that would have zibby by 50 + lbs. Where is Anthony V? I see him on the side line, but that is it.

I don't think he should play both ways the whole game, just some plays for him to get the ball. He did play QB in high school and he was a damn good one.

I have to agree with keeping him on defense. The offense is clicking, why change something if its not broke? CW has everything the way he wants it and thats good enough for me. My faith is with the man who has been the answer to our prayers.

I don't know about Tommy Z as a linebacker, I think he's a bit small-ish for that, and the position wouldn't make full use of his speed. If they had someone who could play Free Safety I'd have no problem though w/ moving him over to Strong Safety, but I don't know that there's anyone on the roster right now who could step in at FS, and Ndukwe hasn't been too bad at SS. When Zibikowski goes to the pros though I really think it'll be as a SS. He could be the next John Lynch the way he plays...

Circle gets the square. I agree.

I am sure the quote about Tom talking to Weis about it was a tongue-in-cheek comment. Weis has already addressed this issue saying he was concerned that fielding punts might exhaust Z but he is the best at it right now. He's not going to play any more offense than he is now.

hehe, excellent 80's to early 90's reference. I'd add to your rep if the site would let me for that one.

I'll take Jim J. Bullock for the block.
