No I don't think he will as it sounded acouple days ago. I think Kevin White and the Admin have lowered their standards and now see Ty's way of thinking that " we have to remember it will be winning season"

I would love to see him go. And Im keeping my fingers crossed but I don't think it is going to happen unless White feels a great deal of pressure from alumni and fans, but it would have to be a GREAT amount.

I think everybody would rather give a new coach 3 years to see if he can change the team around rather than staying with TY.

I agree. I'd like to see Ty fired, but I think he'll be back for one more year.

The only way I think he will get canned is if he he gets slaughtered by USC (im sure he will have no problem doing that) and we lose to a crappy team in a who-gives-a-crap bowl game. If all these things happen, I think the public outcry will be too much for the administratin not to do something. Kevin White needs the s*** slapped out of him for not caring if Notre Dame wins or loses.

Irishtexan- Right on the money. Thats my thought exactly on the future of TY. And for what ever its worth, Beano Cook sadi ND would win 2 NC under Ty says now that he believes he could be canned after the season!

I think Notre Dame has no choice but to can ty. The fans and alums are calling for his head.
Lets just say Ty comes back for the next two years. In that two year span he would have to at least go to a Bcs game in that two year period for him to get a contract extension. After his 5th year if they evaluated him and he had no bcs appearances and a sub par record ( even if he wins 7 or 8 games each the next two years his record will still stink) They'll have no choice but to can him. What are the chances that he'll be able to compete for a national championship these next two years. Slim to none! Why prolong the inevitable just can him after this season so we can move on.
I thinks its 50 50 right now if he stays or goes. Its all up to the ND higher ups, if it were up to the fans he'd certainly be gone......

The AD and the ND administration do not care that the prominance was once ND Football is no more. They got the NBC TV deal again, in light of not making a BCS bowl, they probably look at it as a trade-off money wise. Why NBC gave them another deal to keep a loosing program on TV is beyond me. They must not have anything better going for them on Saturday.

Until someone in charge at ND figures it out and wants ND to return to the top of college football (the very sport that put it on the map) the slide will continue, maybe to the point that there will be no recovery...ever.

As an Irish fan for over 40 years, it is embarrassing to see this AD let the last 2 ND coaches ruin this great football tradition.
If Ty was any kind of man, black or white, he would resign after the USC loss next week, admit he cannot do it, and then I may have some type of respect for him, but only then.
If Kevin White does not get aggressive in getting Urban Meyer back to this great institution, he too, should resign.

Yah i dont think losingham will be fired - i read somewere that he is the HIGHEST PAID COACH IN COLLEGE FB. So even if they do fire him - no one will come here cause they have NO money to pay for it then. So if we r lucky

Urban Meyer '08 or '09

Hope not.

Hope not.

I would like to see him leave, but would prefer a more graceful departure. It would be outstanding if Ty went to Washington or somewhere else on his own, henceforth remembered for his 'Return to Glory' year. Maybe also our first bowl win in a decade?
