Why I still believe...

I think I was SPOT ON with very few micro exceptions. The ONE thing I think I was wrong about is that I believe 2009 will be the start of greatness.

I believe Weis is theoretically in his 2nd year. His true 1st and 2nd year he already had mature (both physically and mentally) athletes, experienced playmakers and a groundwork already in place to work with.

We all know his "true" 3rd year the cupboard TY left us made Old Mother Hubbards cupboard look like a Walmart. CW's true 3rd year was him starting from scratch which makes it his theoretical 1st year (2007). Which looked abysmal but if you gave me every freshman top player at each position in the country and I tried to play them against that schedule that year, it would be abysmal too!

CW is now in his theoretical and realistic 2nd year by playing mostly Sophmores and Frosh. We won 2 ugly and lost one closer than the score looks.

I, for one, will wait until the end of CW's 3rd year to even say if we're truly headed in the right direction, much less if we fire the guy.

Since the end of last year, we all knew pretty much what we had and was still hopeful for 2009. I will wait until Dec. 2009 to make a true judgment on this head coach and his future with Notre Dame.

First off, what the hell does this response have to do with anything I posted? How old ARE you?

But I will intelligently respond to YOUR post.

The very last thing this program should do now (or in the near future) is fire it's head coach!

If we don't get that "one coach in a million", which would not happen after our recent coaching hire debacles, it would set this program back DECADES more!

2-3 more years of subpar recruiting and there would be no hope for the Irish to join the elites until your children are parents themselves!

You can recruit all the talent in the world and think you will win. Yeah you might win a couple and maybe get lucky with some (ND). But you will never be hanging with the USC's, Florida, LSU, Texas, Oklahoma's of the world.

You HAVE TO DEVELOPE TALENT in college football before you can start winning at a regualr basis and always competing for a NC.

Sick of everyone saying "wait 2-3 years". "wait for next year, we are young!"

Everyone has waited 3-4 years now and what bowl games have we won? How many times did we get blown out by good teams? When was the last time we won against USC?

Weis isnt the man for the job.

its true you must develop players and players develop much better when there is depth ahead of them that they can learn from, these freshmen and sophmores have been thrown to the fire and basically had to learn on the run. so give me a break with the develop argument, look at bradys development he got thrown to the fire as a frosh and didnt really break out until his junior year.

Ever think of Cierre Wood decommiting because he will see that our lines sucks and that he will have a hell of a time try and make something happen? Are you connected into the ND staff to where you know how the players feel about Weis?

I know if I was a Top player in the country coming out of HS I would not go to ND. Yes im a huge ND fan but I wouldnt play for Weis. He cant coach. I would rather go to a school who is ALWAYS competing for a NC.

Do you want 4.0GPA kids on your team that a decent to good football players or do you want kids with 3.0GPA who know how to play the game of football?

Alot of you say that other schools players are not as smart as ND's. Which in most cases is true. But look at those kids and see the talent they have to win National Championships and Heismans. They go to play FOOTBALL.

Just wait until USC rolls us. I don't see us being blown out in the first 11 games, because those teams are not capable of doing it. USC hung 35 on a decent OSU defense. I pray for mercy.
