White Sox v. Yankees

All you Illiniosnians(?), it is your solemn obligation to get out to the ballpark over the next three days and rain down boos and heckles on those visiting "gray-pants".
If not for your own defending World Series Champs, then do it for the next to be crowned team from a little town called Boston.
Your help is greatly appreciated.
Cordially,
BIG PAPI and Manny "the best right handed hitter in baseball (Sorry, Albert)" Ramirez.

How can you ask the White Sox to help anyone?

They can barely help themselves for the last month.

The Chi Sox might be able to back into the Wild Card spot, but this club doesn't look like one that can win a five game ALDS series right now.

has their ever been a better potential lineup than that? cano was an allstar this year and he"ll be batting ninth in this lineup posada is also having a career year and is one of the best hitting catchers in baseball

our bench is pretty loaded now to with cabrera(what a player this guy is gonna be) bernie and the addition of wilson

You guys definitely have studs in that lineup. But........I wouldn't count on Sheff and Matsui being even close to what they were pre-injuries. I personally don't think Godzilla makes it back at all.
On top of all your bats, I'll still take:
Schilling, Beckett, Lester, Wakefield, Wells, Papelbon..................OVER
Moose, Johnson, Wang (Chung), Lidle, Rivera.

Schilling and Bectett vs. Moose and Wang is close, but I'd take Wang and Moose, Beckett hasn't been very good. Johnson hasn't lived up to the hype, but he's still capable of pitching deep into a game, Wright has pitched well lately(4-1 3.86 ERA his last 6 starts) and Lidle has good career numbers in August and September and if I'm not mistaken he has won his last 5 starts. Wells is done IMO

The Yanks have a better bullpen with Rivera, Proctor and Villone. Farnsworth has been better in the second half but he still scares me. Dotel should be coming up soon so hopefully he can add something. Overall our pen has shaped up nicely, I think that is what seperates the Yanks from the red sox

Sheff and Matsui are due back by September so they should get enough playing time before the playoffs start to work their kinks out. Matsui is said to be ahead of schedule, but we'll see.

go yankees.........buehrle is the most overrated pitcher in baseball..........(note: i dont consider kerry wood a pitcher cuz he, in fact, never actually pitches anymore)

How do you figure? Prior to July 2006, the worst month of his career, how do you figure? Because he doesn't throw 100 MPH? Takes the ball when it is his turn, gives you a quality start, has 94 career victories. Doesn't strike a lot of guys out, but doesn't walk many either.

Pitching wins championships. I simply don't see enough from the Yankees for them to get it done. They won 4 in 5 years because they had tremendous pitching.

Sox take two fo three from the Yankees. All three games were one run games.

The Carmines appear to be fading. Swept by KC? Yikes.

I'll be at the Sox-Tigers game tonight in a sweet suite. Can't ask for more than Contreras vs. Verlander. Should be a good game.

Sox return Home

Sox return Home

"Now ladies and gentleman if you'll look off to your right you'll see the Olde North Church where Paul Revere lit his lamp to signal that the British were coming. And off to your left is Old Ironsides, the longest acting naval war vessel that is still in commission today."

"Oh Miss......What's that ship right there?"

"Oh, that would be the Red Sox returning home from Kansas City."

"Oh My !! Looks like they might be in trouble."
