I thought he was supposed to be a huge impact? is he injured or something?
He may not be totally recovered from his Achilles injury; if that's true it would really suck. In any case he doesn't even appear on the latest depth chart, and he didn't play in any of the last three games. But until a reporter asks Charlie about it - which I haven't seen, at least - we're sort of in the dark on what's going on.
In any case it seems to be time to write him off as a bust; a real pity, since I still remember how excited I got seeing his speed on his very first KOR as a true freshman.
Maybe he'll bounce back, If it is an injury issue are you sure it is time to write him off as a bust? I would rather find out a little more about the situation before we "write him off".
True, A question for anyone on here, If you come to Notre Dame on a football schollie and can't play anymore due to injury, what happens? What do they do with you?

Thanks guys, I didn't know how they did that. I'm assuming they keep you on scholarship but take you off the roster right?

He was FAST. Thats a tough injury to come back from.
I would assume they get them off of athletic scholarship (and hence, the roster) and put them on some other type of scholarship.
Notre Dame does not give out athletic scholarships. Before anyone gets their panties in a wad, I know that there are some people at ND who are only on scholarship because they are athletes. But the University doesn't call those scholarships "athletic scholarships". I know it's semantics, but it's the way it is.
Guys,
He is not still hurt. If you watched some of the games, he has made a few catches. He actually looked real good in the media practice in the fall. He has also looked good on the practice video's. As I have been saying for a while, this is another instance of where Charlie FAILS miserably at getting more players in the rotation. This hampers our ability to do player development. Ask yourselves if you think that Luke Schmidt is so bad that he should not get some more time at FB. CW falls into a rut with certain players and then others just sit and rot. Are you telling me that Hord is that far behind Parris, West and Grimes. Other than a few good catches out of Parris, what have you seen from all three that would make you want to keep every other receiver on the bench. Last season, we did not give any of the young players a chance to play. I believe very strongly that this is more of CW's NFL upbringing where you play the starters and let the others stand on the sidelines. The HUGE difference is that these are young kids who need development and further, your starters are going to graduate at some point. Shame on CW and his player development.
I tend to agree w/ Jonesman. Weis doesn't seem to manage well when he's got a plethora of talent at one position. WR is the most glaring example.
In '05, after McKnight had a season ending injury in the UM game, he never had to think about who to play at WR. It was Stovall & Samardzija w/ the addition of Shelton on 3 WR sets.
Now he's got Grimes (the most experienced), West (2nd most experienced), Parris, Kamara, Tate, Hord, Gallup. Since they were all pretty much starting from the same point, w/ the exception of Grimes; they seemed to all blur together.
The only WR who had performances that stick out are Parris, Kamara & Tate. Grimes has had some great catches on bad throws, but yet to have a game where he was a difference maker. Throw Carlson in there, too.
Sorry but I'm not sure how Weis can be expected to get the ball to SEVEN different wide receivers when (1) his QBs can't throw the ball all that well, and (2) he has an All-American at tight end and some players in the backfield who can also do things when they catch it. Guys are going to beat each other out for playing time - that's just a fact of life. And if Grimes, West, Parris, Kamara, and Tate have all out-performed Hord, then that's their victory and his loss. I'm not sure what Weis is supposed to do about it.
Is it just me or does just about every thread these days get turned into I think the staff sucks vs. let's be rational and give them more time?

Well it is rather difficult to ignore the 2,000,000,000,000,000 lb gorilla sitting in the room.
And I wouldn't be throwing "rational" on either side of that argument GG.
