I dont know if they ever will, but they are not at the academy to play football. My first ND home game was last year when Navy came to South Bend and I was very impressed and grateful, as a veteran myself (Army), the way the ND home crowd showed great respect for those boys. They deserve it.

People writing off '07 is amazing to me. This is a new regime. There are no write-off years. That team will be top 10.

But once you get into the rhythym of wanting/expecting a national title every year, its hard to be excited when a huge chunk of your team leaves. Thats just being realistic. 2007 is gonna be a tough year.

It could be. I think they're all tough years. But let's wait and see. That squad, whatever the upcoming one does, will have lower expectations nationally. But the program might not miss a beat; a lot of the old big time players leave, which hurts, but the Weis machine has a year more momentum, which helps. It'll be a fun year. Lots of young, big talent guys.

Tounge in cheek, right? If I recall correctly, you really like D. Jones at QB in 07.

I still like our chances of a BCS bowl in 2007, but it could be a real tough year.

I don't care who starts and I'm ready to worry about it in a year.

2007 is cart before horse.
