Isn't it funny that we are grumbling about a 34-10 win? That's says a lot about where Weis has taken this program. Last year I would have danced a jig after a 34-10 win. This year I expect more.

It is true. We played like crap and still won good. Last year we would have lost this game.

This is a confident bunch. Weis tells them they will win and they believe it.

They believed against SC. They believed against Tennessee and up at Ann Arbor. Tremendous coaching and leadership allow you to survive an off Saturday.

Just ask the Trojans.

I'm not grumbling. A team I expected to go 7-4 or 8-3 is going to go 9-2 and two plays away from a title shot. More importantly, this season we've seen a team play with confidence and swagger not seen since the early 90's. We've seen an offense that executes as well as any ND offense since Ara's days. We're headed for a BCS bowl and unlike the last Fiesta Bowl, we feel like we belong there and should win, regardless of the oponent. We've seen the Irish prove they can play with the best and with one exception, they've soundly beaten every team them should.

And all of this while knowing this team isn't nearly as talented as it will be in 2-3 years.

I don't care if the last two games are ugly or pretty. The Irish will finish 10-2, land a top 5 class and ND Nation (the fans, not the site) will be abuzz anticipating a title run in 06.

Yeah, I'm happy with a 34-10 win.

I'm happy too! Let's carry it through to Palo Alto and on to the Fiesta!

Scooper, with Carufel, Young, McCoy and Toryan Smith this class could be number one in a lot of people's minds.

And let's remember that the losses to Pitt, BC and BYU in 2004 are a thing of the past. I'm the most high strung person to watch a game with this side of the Mason Dixon Line, but even I was calm after the first quarter.

Just give Charlie a few rounds to feel out his opponent and the knockout punch will come.

Jigga,
I agree. I wasn't nervous when Tenn tied it up and wasn't nervous AT ALL on Sat. A bit disappointed about coming out flat, but they got revved. BQ and Shark had a bad timing day. The good news is, that was the worst performance and we still dominated.

I thought it was noteworthy when Lewis Johnson relayed the fact that CDub DID NOT chew them out, bur rather CALMLY said, "I bet you think I'm coming over here to lay into you...well I'm not. Relax. You're playing tight. Forget about the 1Q and play like you can play. It'll come."

Jigga - I am the most high strung person to watch a game this side of the Mason Dixon Line. I agree, I did not even get out of my chair the entire first half. I knew we were going to win that game. It wasn't beautiful but we won.

No more losses to big underdogs.

Weis knows how to handle these guys. He gets in their face as bad cop when he must.

Plays good cop when he feels he needs to be calm. Against a team like Cuse, not a problem. If they play flat in the bowl game like that, they could be in issues.

I'm not even thinking about Bowl game. We still have stanford. I have learned not to look ahead.

Correct. Stanford needs one more win to be bowl eligible. We all know that they will be up for the Irish after losing Saturday. We should wipe the field with them, but emotions play a big part in football games. We can't overlook our next opponent or it could come back to bite us (remember BC in '93). I know that's a painful memory for us all, but that's why we can't overlook anybody. That's been done too much over the past 8 years. Notre Dame wins by at least 3 touchdowns Saturday. They'll be ready.

I actually shed a tear after that game in '93. That was the worst. I still get mad, it matches the USC game this year.

They'll be ready.

After SC, Weis split the season in half and started fresh. They'll be focused and will adjust to anything Stanford might surprise them with.

Weis brings confidence to this team more than anything else, and he brings a lot to the table. Notre Dame has taken everyone's best shot and they're a couple of big plays from being unbeaten.

The days of blow out losses and upsets to also rans are over.
