This may have been previously addressed. Please forgive me if it has.
This season looks eerily similar to Lou Holtz's first year in 1986. Though some out there are too young to remember, that year we lost to Michigan, Michigan State and beat Perdue on our way to a 5-6 season. Coach Holtz inherited a disaster just as Coach Kelly has. That 5-6 team not only looked better than the 1985 5-6 team, it also set the foundation for Lou's great turn around at ND. Coach Kelly is cleaning up a train wreck and it will take time.
Also, if you look at another storied program that was in a downward spiral, Alabama, Nick Saban went 7-6 in his first year there. Look at ‘Bama now.... Where will all of these pompous Kelly nay sayers be when the ship is up righted????? Yep, that is right...on the ND bandwagon.
