TT with the first TD of the year. I love that 4 RB's have already touched the ball. Hughes looked like a beast with that run. I'm getting excited! How about a toast to the Irish!!!!
It has been duly noted that you are an individual short on experience. However, throwing an interception at midfield is much better than fumbling at the 10. Please get rid of the f*cking ball.
Can we get some fricking pressure on the QB. 4 games into the season and I haven't seen this new defense get through anybody's line. Maybe we need some more Kerry Neal.
Where is John Carlson. Jimmy really needs to start looking his way instead of taking sacks and handing the ball to opposing Defensive Ends. I have watched some replays of last year's games and I saw Brady Quinn throw the ball downfield whenever nothing opened up short. Sometimes, the ball fell incomplete, but many times the receivers made plays or we got PI penalties. I'd like to see Jimmy try this a few times. I don't remember him really throwing the ball downfield since his first pass attempt in the GT game.
Brian Smith and Kerry Neal should be the starting OLBs! Smith looks good fighting off blocks, and both look to have good size for a frosh LB. That and the Hughes and Aldridge runs are a ray of hope.
It's about time we get some pressure on the QB. I loved what I saw from Neal and Smith in the 2nd quarter. I think that we have found our future stud outside LB's. Lets get Toryan Smith into the game for Vernaglia, who has literally done nothing in the first 3+ games. Hope Charlie gives em a big time halftime speech and gets them to come out fired up in the second half. I think if we get a lead in this game, our running game will take over and we will win. We really need to get a lead though!
Dline has never been the problem. They are probably the best group on the team. Linebackers have been nonexistant for years. Special teams have been worthless for years. Still no tackling fundamentals shown from this team. Finally though, defense is throwing backs backward instead of letting them fall forward. Massive improvement in run blocking from oline. Irish still can't tackle. This is pure coaching stupidity when team cannot tackle.
Two and a half years into his career, and his athletes still cannot play basic football. Humiliated on national TV, and his athletes still make no attempt to tackle correctly. At some point, you learn. This guy is not learning.
