I would say it would be counterproductive to get outside at this point. First of all, the grass is dormant so that doesn’t do me any good.

They’re getting a lot of action except for the offensive line where we are not really even two deep, but basically about two deep with legitimate contenders

The things you can count on me saying a thousand times between now and the time we kick off against Georgia Tech is how well we played against Ohio State and you’ve been reading the magazines.

The first thing we do is by putting in defenses that you play that regardless of what the offense does. Now, the downside of doing that is the offense could get you in physical mismatches

Remember last year, we only had 15 kids coming in. Well, we had three come in at the semester and have another 25 coming.

I think our competition on our team will be better this year because of the quality of athletes competing for the same jobs.

I don’t care who it is, we need to start getting the ball past the 30-yard line on a regular basis unless it’s a touchback; we can’t be settling for the ball on the 24-yard line. We need to get it outside the 30

George (West) and James (Aldridge) will get some looks at kickoff returns

He’s looking like a starting wide receiver. That’s what he looks like -Speaking of Rhema McKnight

Last year I didn’t care if it was wearing them out, it’s just like a parent talking to a kid

Guys like Victor and Zibby have really helped pick up the pace in practice

He wants to play quarterback. You’re barking up the wrong tree here now. Anytime he can touch the ball, he likes to touch the ball. - On Zbikowski

I think they’re going through a little bit of that transition, of the speed of the game, themselves right now - On Aldridge, Stewart and West

I took these from a two part feature on Irish Eyes.

One thing I'll say in terms of Weis' verbage so far: the honeymoon is over. This guy wants to win an NC this year and there will be no excuses from him if they do not.

The sense of urgency in this program right now is at an all time high, one we haven't seen since the Holtz Years. But Lou played the media much differently than Weis does. And I like the way he's doing it.

If they can manage to improve the defense and special teams however slightly, look out.

And the part about TZ wanting to play QB cracked me up.

I think he sees the writing on the wall for 07 and the youth of that team. This year there is a window with a great QB and strong senior leadership across the board. It is a great opportunity.
