that stinks.

maybe... it could be the right one though.

In every surgery there is an element of risk. If you look at these two docs they don't have a history of screwing up...so this might just have been bad luck.

as long as CW stays healthy. It would be a shame to see a long term effect down the road.

Rarely does the plaintiff win in malpractice cases, especially in Boston where both of the doctors attended Harvard. They had sufficient reason for waiting to re-open him up, but its arguable that they waited too long. In addition, the fact that Weis already has a lot of money may not have helped. The jury could have easily thought he was just trying to get a little extra cash. It sucks for Weis to lose, but at least it didn't drag out into the fall practice schedule.

The opposing lawyers kept emphasizing Weis' desire to speed up the process and Weis' lack of questions. However, all of that is irrelevant because his complications, to my knowledge, occurred while he was still in recovery in the hospital under the doctors care. The questions Weis would have been asking about would be concerned with life after recovery while at home.

You sign papers before you go in for the surgery so the Dr's cannot be held responsible. The chances of him winning that case were slim to none.

What would of happen if he died. His family would of received anything. The man damn near died on the operating table. So I guess him wobbling around like a weeble-wobble is o.k.

Oh well - it's not like he needs the money. And these are the kind of lawsuits - superfluous or not - that drive up the cost of medical care and insurance for the rest of us. (Not to say that that means he shouldn't have brought it forward.)

I do feel bad for his ongoing suffering, though ...

The whole "no feeling in my (left?) foot" thing really sucks.

He's supposedly lost 30 pounds since the mis-trial began due to his cutting off of carbs. Good sign for him for the future.

Not sure if this was mentioned above, but I read in an article on the lawsuit that he was planning to donate any money they took home to Hannah and Friends. I redact my stupid comment about the Weis family having enough money to get by.
