Hey guys,

Haven't posted here much at all but have been lurking for years. I need to vent.

I went back to school pretty late in life after I decided driving a truck over the road wasn't the way I wanted to finish my time here.

Social work is where I came down and after working for 4 years at a non-profit for a monk's salary, the State of Oregon is calling in my references for a position I would be ecstatic to get.

They've already contacted one who knocked it out of the park for me. Two to Go. I'm sitting here unable to sleep mulling over all the worst case scenarios.

Anybody else been in this situation before? I'm an absolute wreck right now.

Thanks, man. That's really nice.

It's insane. I'm totally qualified, have a near perfect skill set for the position... It's really a fear of being rejected that's killing me. I know I can be great at this, it's also the idea of perfecting another role in this line of work that's stressful too. The tools I've worked so hard to strengthen at my current job will absolutely carry over it's just going to be WAY more intense.

That's scary too. New coworkers, a new town, ARRRGHHH!!!!!

You need to do whatever you can to chill out. If you're not a recovering alcoholic, have a drink or two. Probably should avoid the weed, for if you should get the job a drug test is likely.

Go as hard as you can all day on the task in front of you so at night, it's easy to fall asleep.

Riding the highs and lows will kill a man, try to maintain a smaller wavelength.

There are many jobs out there but I hope you get what you're after. If you don't, there'll be other opportunities.
