Read this thread between Golic and Wolken:

It started out promising, with Golic somewhat holding Wolken's feet to the fire, but then ended with Wolken doubling down on his bullshit claim that Bevaqua's comments about the 2026 MOU blindsided people. Instead of continuing to call Wolken out for his bullshit, Golic ended the exchange with "Thanks for the clarification." I can't imagine a more limp-dick response from an ND reporter.

I know a lot of people dislike Driskell, and truth be told, I can only take him in small doses, but his biggest virtue is his ability to call out anti-ND bullshit. This is how he responded to Wolken:

I don’t think Notre Dame ever stops playing football, but I get what you mean.

I can ABSOLUTELY see a universe where Notre Dame goes FCS or D2 or something, citing the unwillingness to become a semi- pro organization. Likely? no. But in the infinite multiverse, there is one where this happens.
No, ND has shifted and it knows it needs football. With the way, the enrollment cliff is coming to all of USA Universities and colleges keep Notre Dame growing and in front of young people. Universities need Differentiators and football is the perfect vehicle for that

Edit just so you know I do voice to chat because I’m at a bounce house thingy so sorry for the run-on sentences and everything else

As a “Double Domer” with a parent that went to Notre Dame, let me tell you all that Notre Dame loves and wants its money more than any. There’s no way they’d willingly sabotage its biggest money maker for spite

yeah, I don't see it in our lifetimes. But who knows, there was a time when University of Chicago, Yale, and Army were titans of the sport and they all stepped back in different ways when it became clear that they weren't willing to keep making the trade offs needed to stay on top. It's hard to imagine that happening today given the incredible economic engine ND football has become for the university, but who knows what the future holds. Maybe ND's esports team will get huge and make it easier to walk away...

you look in the rules and bylaws of states cities and frankly universities you will find some very interesting things that no one cares about or even tries to obey
So what? How does that apply to BYU's honor code? Are you implying that drinking alcohol is allowed on BYU's campus? That BYU students are allowed to have pre-marital fornication/sex?

What are you talking about here?

But I say you are a bigot just from the way you state your crap
I have met a lot of bigots who were at least honest about it
those like you claiming you are not are the worst
If you actually believe this, you are ignoring what words mean. Not in a colloquial way, but in an "I need it to mean this" way. I am absolutely irreverent when I talk about expectations/rules which are based on religious doctrine alone. I never hide that.

Maybe I have a blind spot, though. What prejudice belief(s) about religion are you saying I'm obstinately or unreasonably holding on to?

Or just take the L and maybe a nap.

Driskell has really been one of the only bigger platform Notre Dame media people who have been standing strong. A lot of "both sides are to blame," from ND media people. One of them, I forget who, said it was "ridiculous that USC would try to duck ND because due to concerns of losing."

USC media is in lockstep, with the LA Times, running cover for the Trojans and regurgitating propaganda more shamelessly than a Russian TV station, and our guys can't even muster up the gumption to stick up for the Irish in anyway. I will never give a dime to these people.

Dellenger on the podcast made it sound like ND believed USC was just yanking then around at some point late in negotiation and moved on, makes sense since we announced BYU instantaneously

Thought: Was ND comfortable moving on after Pete’s meeting with Jim Phillips? Maybe a soft agreement to schedule Miami/FSU/Clemson during November more? Concession on Stanford/Clemson inclusion in the deal?

A third from Dellenger, said Tony Petitti certainly knew of the MOU provision but some ADs in his conference may have not known or simply forgot (eye roll). Definitely made it sound like the “I’m not gonna play you stuff” is mainly coming from the Big Ten.

Hot take prediction: watch IU cancel the future series

Also reconfirmed the rivalry would certainly be played if AQs were approved for the CFP. (Aka the game doesn’t matter).

Golic really had a chance to carry the ND torch in the media, when his industry mates at espn, meadowlark, and everyone else outside of Aaron Taylor were openly campaigning against ND to make the playoff. What an absolute phony.

At least BYU is on a nice upswing lately. 11-1 this season (yeah, I know, in the Big 12 and they got smacked around in the CCG, but it's something). Now let's just hope they stay good for the series and it isn't one of those "they were a solid team when we scheduled them" collapses and BYU goes 4-8 the two years ND plays them and the Irish get grief for "not playing anybody."
