I was listening to Colin Cowherd the other day for a couple minutes while going out to lunch. While I cannot confirm any accuracy, he said that USC has moved to a "wishbone-like" 3 back attack and that the wide receivers didn't even hit the field.

Anyone else hear this?

If that's true, it would be the second biggest mistake Leinhart has ever made. Who knows, maybe he bought a multi-million $ insurance policy through Loyd's of London.

I read somewhere, Pete Carroll wants to play more conservative football. He's not the offensive genius that Chow is, and he doesn't want that to be exposed.

With the way Southern Cals offense has dominated the last few years, why on earth would you want to change that, and play conservatively.

I'll tell you why, he probably knows he can't run and comprehend Chow's offense.

USC will still be very good without Chow, but the days of them dominating college football, and turning out top QB's are numbered.

i love watching the wishbone in action. but i think carroll would be the dumbest person on earth to start to play conservative football. he would be an idiot not to exploit the talent he has. if he wants to play conservatively, he should talk to diedrick.

SC running the wishbone?...now that's the best news all day, would love to see them run that conservative style in the PAC-10...while others are posting 35-50 points a game,i am sure that his wishbone will be able to put up gee i dont know 21-24 points a game maybe..that's great...i hope they run it when we play them..

They talked about this on a thread at NDNation, but it looks like they removed the thread. I couldn't find it. Anyway, it was a joke. Get it? USC running the wishbone is funny, 'cause ESPN the Magazine said they could beat the Cincinnati Bengals last year. Or something like that.

Anyway, I have no doubt Carrol will be more 'conservative' though.

LOL... okay, but I was still just sitting my car and scratching my head. I was thinking about all those transfers that would be leaving if it were true, especially those WRs they picked up.

Too bad.

My guess is that "the other day" was April 1st.

God bless the Titans for stealing Chow out of there. Life on the ND side of things just got much much better.
