An additional observation, the USC band is probably better conditioned than some of our O-lineman. They did NOT STOP PLAYING from 1 HOUR before kickoff until when they stopped to allow our band to finish the alma mater and fight song during postgame.

Other 'observations:'

-Sorry if this was posted somewhere or clarified by Charlie...where was Golden Tate on kickoffs???

-It seemed as if the '77 team was meant to sit on the temp bleachers set up in front of the student section. However, they were gone EARLY in the first quarter. Intentional? I would think those players would have stayed near the field to support this team?

-Thanks Joe Montana, for what you did for this university, but are you too good to wear the green? I was combing the field for that green #3, and from what I could see it was a t-shirt and leather jacket. I have met him in person once at an NFL Experience at the Super Bowl in Atlanta. He just seems to carry himself like he is bigger than the university.

-It is time to put the 1812 overture to bed. EVERYONE seems tired of worshipping our head coaches. The student body seemed half interested. The rest of the stadium was not. It was great for Lou, let's leave it to rest with him.

-Not sure where to post this, but met Robert Hughes at Chilis in Mishawaka after the game. Did not recognize him, but presumed he was either a player or recruit, as he was dressed sharp, and with a bunch of people in ND garb. He was a class act, and seems very grounded and was very polite. Got to wish him luck and told him to keep his head up. He seemed in good spirits, and was probably just fired up to enjoy an Awesome Blossom and some Chicken Crispers (as I certainly was!!!). I think Golden Tate was there also, and another player that I did not recognize.

I don't know about the band being better conditioned, but our O-Line is causing us heartache for sure. That's probably the root for a lot of the issues that we have. Hope we can pick up some big angry dudes next class.

I am keeping an eye on this in the recruiting thread - but it feels wierd to look to next season. I think that we have what it takes to beat Navy.
