Jeff Samardzija was ranked as 3-star prospect in 2003 and did little his freshmen and sophomore year. As we all know he evolved into one of the best recievers in college football this year.

With all this talk about Mustain, Frazer, Young, and others, underrated players are being put in the shadows.

Who do you think will be a breakout star in the years to come and fool everyone?

I think Kallen Wade might be one of these future stars.

McNeil is grossly underrated on scout, and rivals has him as only the 14 best corner. He'll be a star at ND, and in the NFL

Agreed Queens. I think that this kid will be a good one and he showed this in front of a national audience. Am I mistaken or did they say that McNeil lacked effective closing speed in his scouting report? If that is so, I think we can put that baby to bed, because I sawe him get beat once or twice and still made the play on the ball.

I like Schmidt too. I know that he is a 4 star, but he is not getting the attention that Aldridge is getting. I think that Schmidt will be a stud.

I'm sticking with Wade and Mullen, the foundation of a future dominating defensive line.

the point worth driving home, regardless of your underrated pick, is that there isn't a kid in this class that doesn't have the potential to be a big-time player in the college game. what a class...

that said, i gotta go with paddy mullen on the d-line.

AJ Hawk was a 3 star. Mike Williams was also a 3 star. Bobby Carpenter, I believe, was also a 3 star.. God only knows what Roethlisberger was.

I think Leonard Gordon could fit in real well at Apache linebacker.

George West is someone I can see having a great ND career. I also agree Toryan Smith could a be a force at LB for years.

Roethlisberger was a 2 star going into Miami of Ohio.

Prince is going to be a stud. He will be a Reggie Bush type back, but not as good. And Barry Gallup is going to be very good. The way they talk about him at the AA game.

AGREED!! HEE HAW RIDE 'EM COWBOY!!! Gallup has some giddy-up. Can't wait to see him streak down the sidelines on say 9/22/06 returning a KO for a TD and seeing PU's defensive coordinator w/ that classic "WTF just hit us" look AGAIN....
