According to Weis's presser, Tyler will not have surgery. Any surgery done will be a career ender. He will enter a rehab programthat will get him ready to play but he will likely need to be in it his entire playing career.
Not exactly.
As I heard the presser, the
type of surgery they (Eifert family and his physicians) were considering would have ended his career. I don't recall Charlie saying "any surgery" nor specifying the type of surgery.
Last recruiting season I believe I posted in Eifert's recruiting thread that he had a disc problem, again unspecified. Some disc problems can be rehabbed.
IF the procedure they were considering was fusing vertabrae I believe that would eliminate football. My wife had that procedure done on her neck vertabrae. (No, she can't play football but she was cleared to ride roller coasters.)
I don't understand how Eifert could do the lifting that is so integral to football conditioning. Time will tell.
I wish him well.
