Two New Offers

Jason Sapp of BGI reports that DE Allen Bailey and WR Junior Hemingway have both been offered. Both are in the Rivals Top 100. Weis is really going after the best of the best. Here are their profiles:

Looks like they could be tough to pull out of Dixie since they've been offered by a who's who of the SEC.

Not to sound "funny" or anything, but Bailey sure passes the eyeball test. That guy looks like a monster. Who is the favorite right now? UGA? We've taken some good players out of GA in recent years, but haven't really beaten them head to head yet. This might be a fun place to start.

It sounds like the DE offers are rising. I wonder if he's trying to get some quick commitments out of some of them and kind of hedging his bets. Trattau sounds like a strong candidate to be in the fold at some point, then are guys like Martin and Dailey in a race to take the last spot? Will Neal be a DE or OLB?

Hemingway....a touted WR out of South Carolina. That would be another nice pay back for Gray.

Yes. Ben Martin. And I don't mean Mel Gibson in The Patriot.

I don't have to tell you how bad I want that kid. The new offer is curious. I wonder if he could grow into a DT. He has some good size. Or maybe they take 7 DL overall and go with it.

These appear to be the most probable. I just find the new offer curious.

If you are right about Neal, I may change my son's name to IRISHMAN.

Another DE offer? hmmmm where are the DT offers? The Monsters the clog up the middle? Is Austin a possible silent verbal? I think so...

I am not confident with Marvin Austin, but ulimately Arrelious Benn coming to ND and the prospect of not only playing early, but being able to START on raw talent alone could sway Marvin Austin to ND.

I want them to take four DT and they plan on taking at least 3. Miles Stroter will probably end up at OT....he's absolutely mammoth to be anywhere but offensive line.

They'll take 3 DE, Neal-Martin-Trattou being the trio.

I think the reason that so few LB have been offered is because they're considering some of these DE as linebackers. Check the offer sticky and note the size of some of these guys. Lots of "tweener" types like my boy Richetti Jones and those kids from Florida.
