dont worry fellas it won't dis credit our tradition if we don't have real grass. The players on the field are what keep the tradition going. I think we need to go with whatever Charlie thinks. ha ha
No, but sometimes you hit the ground and slide, causing tiny bits of rubber to fly eveywhere.
They have the Astro Play in Carbondale, don't they SIUIrish?
Guessing it might be Bermuda grass. Couldn't find out exactly but it looks like this is the company that maintains it.IF Notre Dame changes the field, look at pictures of Calvin Johnson's td against us this year and the grass at GT. That stuff looks like a carpet and I dont recall anyone slipping or falling on that stuff. That is the only kind of grass Notre Dame should change to if they do indeed opt to make a change.

that was also the first game of the season. also bermuda grass will not survive in south bend.
Are you kidding me? Turf on a football field? I am sorry if this offends some peoples' posts but that is the stupidest idea I have ever heard. That's like saying that baseball is better played inside a dome. Better yet, football is better played in a dome. Other than basketball, sports were meant to be played outside in the natural elements. There is nothing cooler than watching a football game in a rain or snow drenched setting with players fighting the elements and the other team(i.e. ND-Penn State Snow Bowl). I would argue that if anything, natural grass shows who the REAL athletes are. Football on artificial turf, COME ON.
