We've all been highly critical of the Democrats and their lack of leadership. You're beating a dead horse. Why did the Republican party fall in line behind? Why was he the candidate and why does no one on the right hold him responsible?
The reason why Trump won the Republican primary was because he has a significant amount of die hard followers. The only way that someone else could've beaten him in the primary is if there was only two (maybe 3) people in the primary. You have a wide open field and Trump was virtually guaranteed to win. I would've taken anyone else in the primary over Trump. I truly believe the only two candidates that Trump could've beat was a senile Biden and possibly Harris.

In reality, I think Harris could've still won the election despite her being a terrible candidate. Even with the word salad and being overall unlikeable, if she just tells people a couple of things that she would've done differently from Biden. For God's sakes, the Dem's were pondering dumping Harris as the VP candidate a year earlier because of how unlikeable she was.

If you can't admit those were the two worst candidates that the Dem's could've put forward, I can't help you.
Do you think any establishment dems wanted Kamala to be the pick? The only reason she was the nominee was because Biden waited too long to step down AND chose to endorse her on the way out. Pelosi had whipped the establishment into accepting the idea of a mini primary before Biden endorsed Kamala.

She was a horrible candidate and I don’t think anyone on here has or would disagree with that.

So you let Trump over run the whole party and it leads to our country's current state. And you blame the Democrats instead? Trump beat more than 2 candidates, he beat every Republican. And again he was never losing after the assassination attempt

Fantasy booking the Dems winning the election also ignores broader trends around the world where most every incumbent party/politician lost. What happened in our election wasn't unique from a macro level. The path to there was our own, however.

Not our own we saw it before in 1930s Germany and Italy

For sure, and I think most of us agree with your assessment.

I hope the Dems lose every election they run in when they have dogshit candidates. Republican's already had their guy to reshape the party, but the Dems are trying to trot out GWB foreign policy and Clinton era domestic/economic policy. No wonder that doesn't resonate with voters.

I think the pushback you're seeing is that I think some see this approach as letting Republican's off the hook for keeping Trump as their nominee when there was a ton they could have done to swap him. They could have leaned into the populism by having a Josh Hawley, Kristi Noem, or DeSantis and done all the same stuff that's happening now but it'll be in a "nicer" package.

Bingo. Given this line of logic, it means that the Republicans aren't even a powerful party....they are only capable of winning if the Democrats make mistakes. MAGA voters essentially cuck their party out when they blame the Democrats for Trump winning their own party's nomination. It infantilizes the party. Yet another example of the party of "the adults are back in charge" effectively calling themselves children who are powerless against the political will of the democrats.

Seems to me you're also beating a dead horse with Trump.
