The author uses a poor choice of words when he says "trap game". A trap game by my definition is a game that is overlooked because it is sandwhiched between 2 harder games on the schedule. Obviously, this is not the case for LSU.
To many, a "trap game" is simply a game that a team is likely to look past, assuming the win is a given. This is often compounded by the fact that the favorite has little, if anything, to gain with a win while facing a lot to lose by losing.
This would very appropriately describe the Sugar Bowl this year for LSU. (And I hope they keep on writing us off.)
