The Tigers just swept the A's in 4 games! 12 years of losing, and now a shot at the title.

Go Detroit!

Congrats, being an A's fan it was hard to watch this series. The Tigers earned it and they were the better team. Leyland did great things with this team, from a perennial loser to a World Series team. Amazing.

I wish I could say I was on the bandwagon.

I was a HUGE Tiger fan growing up.

However, after the Twins screwed them in 1987, I kinda dropped off. I wish them the best, but I am not going to be a one season bandwagoneer.

I'm in pretty much exactly the same place as you. I pretty much don't follow baseball at all.

Pitching, pitching, pitching.

Next year they'll be dead armed just like this year's White Sox, but they'll have more depth to deal with it.

They will win it all, making the AL Central WS Champs 2 years in a row. And it won't be Cleveland or Minnesota either. JOY!!

I'm not a AL fan, but I do wish them the best. They do have a good manager.

Hey, at least the Indians play baseball OUTSIDE. I can honestly say it is only the rivarly because there really isn't anyone on that team I dislike.

The Twinkies, however, have the loudmouthed Torri Spelling Hunter and Justin Morneau.

Yeah...I hear ya. The Twinkies do tend to wear on you over the stretch of a 162 game season. Seems like once or twice a year we get into a beanball-fest with them, tempers flair and everyone goes out for a bench clearing dance...I mean brawl around the mound for about 45 seconds in an attempt to look tough and supposedly stand up for "their guy."
UGGGGHHHH...

Their "anybody but Chicago" bit this year was total bull crap.

The Sox went out of their way to kiss their asses the past couple years, publically stating they built the 2005 team around the Twins blueprint because they were the top of the Central. Publically, to the press, the Sox have done nothing but praise that indoor baseball team and how great they are.

BARF.

Hunter and Morneau pretty much ran their mouths and they played a whopping 3 more games than the Sox. Yippiddy do.

Santana lost in Game One and they peed their pants. It was great watching them fold.

Another year, another disappointing A's season. I think we are about 10 million in cap money from getting to the series. At least this time we were swept in the second round. The trend lately has been for one hit wonders, who are good for only one year and then disappear from the post-season. Like the White Sox, Marlins, Red Sox, Angels. Yet, the A's are there, year in and year out, and just can not quite get there.

As the saying in Oakland goes, next year is our year, let's just hope we don't lose to many of our good players to multi-million contracts with other teams. We always have good pitchers in our farm system, we just have a hard time keeping them past 3 years.
