How do I feel about it?

Well, I live in reality... only four/five teams in the country had obviously better classes...

I Feel Great About This Year's Class...

You're dead on. This years class is awesome. Yea, we may not have signed 22 kids, but the 18 that we did get are gonna be big impact players, not to mention good people as well. Yea, Notre Dame could probably pull in a few more kids that could be star players but may lack academically or character wise. Think about it, of those four or five teams that had beaten us out recruiting wise how many sacrafice character for athleticism. Ofcourse I would love for ND to dominate year in and year out, but I wouldn't want to see them do it while comprimising the Notre Dame repuation. I take pride in the fact that when our kids are interviewed they can actually form complete sentences and use words that have more than 2 or 3 sylables. Look at how we have competed these past couple years under Charlie, and we haven't really seen what last years recruiting class can do. I wouldn't worry about who we lost to other schools or the players we almost could have had....Weis is well on his way to building a powerhouse team.

I look at this class and I see talent and heart. With the few we lost, I think that at times you will need to take a step back to make a great stride in the future. With the change at DC so late in the recruitinig game, may have made kids scared and we lost a few but in the future I truely feel that CW/CB will bring in better kids than the few we lost this year. Thinks are never as good or bad as they seem, we will be fine. GO IRISH!!!!!!!!

we don't need to have 10 5th years next year to keep next year's class numbers around 20. weis inked 15 his first year, 28 his second year, and 18 his third year. that's 61 in all. 60 if yeatman's scholly is a lacrosse scholarship rather than a football scholarship.

consequently, if the irish take 20 next year, that already puts them at 80 scholarship players. toss in a 2-3 5th years and a couple walk-on turned scholarship athlete (assuming weis continues the practice of giving a scholarship to the occasional deserving walk-on), and you're already at the 85 scholarship limit.

Just created a long post about the wrong year of recruits (thought next years seniors were juniors), but Hiben is no longer with the team and I'm not sure if it will happen but golden tate could probably take a baseball scholarship even though I think we would all prefer he focused on football. Either way I think we take more than 20 this year.
