Guys I saw a Notre Dame team play their asses off today and lose a game the should have one. The team that beat them did everything almost perfect and caught many breaks. As for me Clausen and the O line did their jobs-hats off to them. Unless they lay down next week you just saw a team come of age today even though they lost. They didnt blink they just got beat. The only thing that mich people wont want to hear is that was one of the worst officiated games I have ever seen. Holding on Young, illegal celebration that was not there, and just the feel of what the officials were doing was really bad looking on TV. Maybe someone that was their can expand on this as I'd really like to hear some opinion on it from someone that was there. But unless I'm really not with it they are not going to lose many games this year and now I really look forward to USC. Yeh the defense let down, and yeh we could have used a better punt late in the game, yeh one or two first downs at the end wins but this is a very good team. The offense in my opinion was spectacular. Watching today you could just feel it was not their day. My only bad on this is now they have to deal with knowing they were the better team but they LOST. We will see what they do with that down the line.

99% of every team in NCAA Football will lose a game this year. USC will lose a game this year. Chances are that Florida will lose a game this year. People need to reel in these expectations, and stop living in 1935.

Be happy that Notre Dame football is back to being a national power. This is an EXCELLENT team. 10-2 and a BCS game is an EXCELLENT season. We will lose no more than 5 starters off of this squad next year. We are building something unseen in 20 plus years at ND right now. Too bad that so many fucking yokels are missing that fact.

We are getting back to a National power. No one can stop our passing game. Michigan is also on the rise don't underestimate them because they aren't ranked.

The defense needs some more work. Though they were out of position on several big plays, they played with a great deal of heart and a lot of character.

The good thing about this loss is that it is early in the season and we can overcome it as far as getting into the BCS. The season is far from over. Ultimately, the season is what we make of it form here on out.

We are NOT a national power. Weis needs to go.

I do NOT want a repeat of the Quinn years. We have a stud quarterback (Quinn/Clausen), a pretty decent running back (Walker/Allen), two great receivers (Samardzija, Stovall/Tate, Floyd), and a tremendous tight end (Fasano/Rudolph)...yet we have no defense to back them up. We dominate the teams with bad offenses and/or inferior talent and get absolutely destroyed by teams with good/great offenses.

I ABSOLUTLEY LOVE the IRISH, this game literally just HURTS!!! It HEARTBREAKING!!!

While I agree that UM did stick in an "WIN" this game, it certainly makes it easier when the Ref's help you out. I won't go into all the details on this thread, but the REF's were terrible!!!!

As for the play calling, I do think it was a bit suspect, but then again if Tate or Shaq make those catches, its ball game.

What I don't understand though is everyone calling for CW's head. I certainly am not a HUGE CW supported, but seriously, rolling in a new coaching staff every 5 years is one of the biggest reasons we have struggled IMO. While I agree that we need to get rid of BAD coaches, CW is NOT a bad coach. He's not Meyer, but unless we can get him, I don't feel comfortable grabbing any other coach.

I had extremely high hopes for this year, and we can still salvage this year if we can come back from this devestating loss. If we can come back from this and run the table, or even lose to SC while putting up a good game, I think we will be fine.

We need to concentrate on our defense. Our DLINE has gotten manhandled, and with the blitzing that we are supposed to do, a dline getting manhandled while blitzing LB's will get eaten alive by a mobile QB, and Forcier proved that today.

I really enjoy this site, and look foward to the rest of the season chatting up with everyone.

I'm not going to Nascar, I'm going to watch wrestling. The WWE. Might as well, it;s the same fucking thing. The outcome was pre-determined guys. F-ing refs. It was beyond bad. Pathetic.

Yes, we lost to UM. Scoreboard. But don't tell me these WWE refs didn;t have a huge hand in the outcome. Everyone yells at me during games when I yell to join a conference (and I don't blame them, we shouldn't), but the refs are why I yell that we should join a conference. These refs just laugh at us. Refs or not there were several chances ND had to salt the game away. First and foremost the end of the game. Secondly that QB sneak in the 1Q. Score should have been 14-7 ND, not 14-3 UM. Refs are refs and until they setup a national ref system where these conference clowns are no more then the out of conference team will always get hosed.
