yep...easier to get everyone flowing , and slide one out back side with 2 back there. Can also motion, and overload receivers, can have a lead block/dive option...many reasons I like to have at least some 2 back sets.
But it puts another defender in the box. We can't handle a good front seven now. If the opponent is good, we will just have more trouble.
One of the advantages of the spread is you are running against six, not seven or eight; and if your QB can run, often four or five. And if the QBcan throw sometimes three.
An elete offensive line is needed to move the ball against an elete front seven. We don't have that now.
