What'd you think of this week's episode?
The first thing I need to mention is that I'm uncertain about the writers' intent in having Vito wear a Notre Dame hat. My dad thought it was just a way of showing that most Italian Catholics support Notre Dame. I however, being the pessimist, believe that it was a deliberate jab at everything Notre Dame stands for---what with Vito's lifestyle and all.
I pretty much predicted where the show was going. A friend continuously told me that the show was going to end with Vito ratting everyone out, a la 'The Goodfellas'. I disagreed, saying that Vito will be killed against Tony's will, and that it would lead to a schism and a power struggle, that would somehow bring us to the serie's ending. So, for the most part, I seem to have won that battle.
I didn't think this episode was that special and Carmella's trip to Paris---although offering plenty of nice scenery---didn't really serve a purpose other than to take up time. I don't feel the show is stalling, which is a good thing. I'm most interested in AJ's story-line.
What undeniably does suck is that next week's episode is the last of the year, so I'll probably forget what's been going on.
