CW may have lost some of the fan base and alumni, but he has not lost his players and that is what counts. They are fighting for him and each other. Let the administration F' with that and you'll see how fast we will lose players and recruits. Keep the faith Irish, now is not the time to start wholesale changes at the top.

Great article. It's relieving to see the players step up and back Weis.

I know it's not mentioned on here, but I caught a little bit of Weis' interview yesterday and my appreciation and thoughts of Clausen have just sky rocketed. I am so impressed with his actions. Weis mentioned that JC was texting him at 1am telling him how upset he was with himself,fumbling at the goal line.

This is the conflict I have in my own mind. On the one hand I like CW. It appears to me from these quotes that the staff is really giving their best effort and I really enjoy watching this team (even though all these close games is probally giving me heart problems). The players like him and I think they know best. I think they are being honest because If they didnt believe what they are saying I would hope they just wouldnt say anything at all. But Im just so dissapointed with the results. Have to blame someone right? I dont know who to blame. Im pumped to drink 7 and 7s and watch the game saturday though!

I believe they are being honest... they do not play like a team that has given up on their coach.

People I truely believe ND could have destroyed Navy. We had many red zone scoring opportunities that we did not capitalize on. Was it the coach's fault the ball hit Floyd and was caught by Navy? Was it coach's fault Jimmy fumbled the ball on the one yard line? Was it his fault the kicker missed 2 field goals? I say NO. I believe we will go to Pitt and Stanford and beat them. The players will win the rest of the games for their coach. My God bless America and all of you on this Veteran's Day.

I appreciate the article but I don't put much stock into what's said in the media. If my boss made an awful decision which I completely disagreed with, I wouldn't walk around the building squaking to other employees about it nor would I comment to the media (and I actually do have calls from state/local newspapers about my company). You just don't do that....so don't put too much stock into what these kids are telling the press; a lot of the talk is rubbish. They're saying what they know they're supposed to say.

Would you honestly expect one of these players to say "Yeah, we got outschemed. The coaching staff is just doing a shitty job, they don't have it". No way in hell would you ever hear that. I'd prefer they interview anonymous students around campus who know the players on a more personal level. Sure, you'd get some bullshit but you'd also hear the truth which may be that they 100% support Charlie (I hope they do) but the truth could also be that they thought the coaching was bad.
