Hey Steve,

Great post!!! I couldn't agree more. Charlie needs to stay...change for the sake of change is not always good.

GO IRISH!!!

Actually no...ND does not want a guy like Meyer. He lets his kids get away with disciplinary issues that would not be allowed at ND. His ideas on academic standards do NOT mesh with ND's. And he lies on the recruiting trail.

None of those things is acceptible for an ND coach.

You're ignoring the fact that the AD most likely has more say in those things than Meyer does.

You don't like him because he passed on the job last time. I understand. But stop twisting reality to try to make your point.

As long as he can win games and keep the players we have and the players he brings in out of trouble then all will be grand.

I don't like him because he wanted ND to grant him JUCOs and relaxed recruiting standards.

It's simply wrong. That is not ND and he should know better...but apparently it did not matter to him.

When this come out back in 2004, I was beyond disgusted that he would try to negotiate for any such thing at ND.

I don't care that the AD has more power...I was offended that Meyer should even ask for such things. He should know better, he's been at ND.

He proved he's not an ND man...

Link Below.

Anyways, it's been brought up, but here is an article about how a recruit left a school because the previous coach was fired. The recruit: USC's Brian Cushing, currently a top draft prospect and absolute stud for $C. The school he left: Notre Dame. A quote from the article:

Personally I thank God Ty Golfingham was fired. But we did lose a great recruit.
Brian Cushing's road to USC went through South Bend - Los Angeles Times

But, its unlikely Cushing would have ever attended ND, and if he had, would have likely been kicked off the team. If you read the rest of the article, it mentions how he got into fights and punched people. ND would have dropped him as a recruit when that happened, just like it dropped Randy Moss.
