Ronald Johnson to USC, Trojans get payback for Michigan getting Donovan Warren.

Sidell Corley to LSU, Former Florida commit who spurned the Gators after they recruited Trattou ends up at LSU.

Florida also had another 4 star de-commit today as Rivals 4 star athlete Bert Reed looks like he will switch to FSU on Wednesday.

Nick Saban lost a Top 100 QB, QIR #149 Robert Marve, to Miami on Friday, now they may be losing a DT to Miami as well. Kerry Murphy #99 on the QIR 179, is now an Alabama "soft verbal". Murphy is saying that he is now 60/40 Miami. It looks like there is going to be quite a few commitment changes in the last few days, especially in the Southeast.

Rashad Mason QIR#173, a Tennessee WR has verbally committed to North Carolina. If Butch Davis can hold on to another highly rated WR commit in Dwight Jones, (he is presently a soft verbal) North Carolina may be a contender in the ACC in a couple of years. It's amazing what a big name coach can do for recruiting.

Christian Scott, QIR Rank #96, a Dallas TX Safety, , has verbally committed to guess where? Texas, of course.

That's a total of 4 announcements today from the Elite Uncommitted, bringing the total left down to 14.

Good News Bad News on Ahmad Paige, WR, QIR Rank #77. Good news is Paige has apparently eliminated Florida from his choices, still leaving Meyer without an Elite WR. Bad news is Paige was in LA this weekend, and his last 2 choices are USC & Tennessee. Can anybody say, Good ole Rocky Top!

LSU picks up its' 2nd elite recruit in as many days as Stefoin Francois, QIR#69, a Reserve, LA Strong Safety gave his verbal committment this morning.

The Elite Uncommitted (2/5/07 Update), and there’s 14 coming down the homestretch.

For those of you keeping track as we come nearer to the close of the 2007 recruiting season, the Elite Uncommitted list now stands at 14 uncommitted High School Seniors who appear at least once in the Top 100 of any of the five major recruiting boards as Ronald Johnson (USC), Sidell Corley (LSU), Christian Scott (Texas), and Rashad Mason (North Carolina) made their announcements yesterday, and Stefoin Francois (LSU) made his announcement this morning. Also, Lee Chambers is added back to the list. Chambers had been a Mississippi St. soft verbal, and has now officially de-committed from Miss St., and said that he will choose between Miami & Southern Miss. Of these 14 athletes, 6 are ranked in the Top 100 on all five boards.

There are also 4 “soft verbals” commits that are considered very shaky, and likely to change by Wednesday. The latest announcement info for the 18 recruits that we await final answers from are listed below.

Darien, GA Defensive End, Allen Bailey, QIR Rank #27, has just selected Miami over the Gators. Poor Urban, he just simply does not have enough DL already. Bailey becomes by far the highest rated recruit in the Miami class this year, but Randy Shannon is doing a heckuva job grabbing quality recruits at the last minute, including poaching a QB (Robert Marve), and possibly a DT (Kerry Murphy) from Alabama and Nick Saban.

Another recruit bolts on Urban

Bert Reed is not part of the Elite group, but he is a Rivals 4 star athlete who de-committed Florida yesterday, but said at the time he would still consider Florida & FSU, and make an announcement on Wednesday. I guess Bert has decided not to wait as he made a verbal commit to FSU this evening. Reed is the 2nd Florida de-commit in a week along with DE Sidell Corley. Another DE, Jerry Howard is also a "soft verbal" for Meyer and the Gators, and may end up at FSU or Auburn. All of the recruits that Meyer has wooed, poached, and otherwise convinced to go to Gainesville may be catching up with him a bit. Something does not smell right in Mudville, but I guess it never has.

The Elite Uncommitted (2/6/07 Update), 13 and counting down.

For those of you keeping track as we come nearer to the close of the 2007 recruiting season, the Elite Uncommitted list now stands at 13 uncommitted High School Seniors. The only announcement made in the last 24 hours was DE Allen Bailey’s selection of Miami over Florida. The only other news of note was Clint Brewster’s de-commit from Illinois to Minnesota where Brewster’s father is the head coach. Brewster’s commitment to Minnesota gives the Gopher’s their first Consensus Top 100 recruit. P.S.- I wonder if anyone else is planning on jumping off the ZOOK ship. Of the 13 remaning uncommitted athletes, 5 are ranked in the Top 100 on all five boards.

There are also 4 “soft verbal” commits that are considered very shaky and likely to change by Wednesday. The only anticipated announcement today from this entire group is that of Kerry Murphy, an Alabama soft verbal who is expected to switch to Miami. However, his announcement may be a moot point as it appears Murphy is headed to Prep School in the fall. The latest announcement info for the 17 recruits that we await final answers from are listed below.

I read off some other boards that Devine apparently got a good SAT score on the last test he took that's well above the NCAA minimum. But after the 13 he got on his ACT combined with his school grades, I'd imagine that score would probably be majorly red-flagged by the NCAA Clearinghouse.

It is a shame Noel couldn't get his s**t in order. That kid is going to be a lot of fun to watch if/when he makes it to a Div-I school. Well, as long as he doesn't end up like that Maryland / Illinois guy that just pisses his talent away.

Kerry Murphy has announced that he will honor his verbal committment and sign with Alabama tomorrow. As late as 2 days ago, Murphy was quoted as saying he was 60/40 for Miami.

The Elite Uncommitted (2/8/07 Update), may they rest in peace.

The 2007 Elite Uncommitted class has only 1 significant member left. Noel Devine, who verbally committed to West Virginia on NSD eve, but did not sign his LOI on NSD based on advice received from his “advisor” Deion Sanders. Good Luck with that Noel! In any case, even if Devine does sign a LOI before April 1, it is unlikely that he will academically qualify for the Fall 2007 semester. Therefore we have officially stopped tracking the 2007 Elite Uncommitted and will now let them sink into the depths of the blogosphere. The 2008 Elite Uncommitted will be making its’ debut sometime in the late summer. Until then, the Elite say “au revoir”.
