Terrible Referees

Does anyone have a clip of the little replay blurb they showed? Or was anyone at the game that can clarify?

I swear from what I saw on tv it didn't look like a penalty. From what Laws said (Something like - i think he threw the flag because he thought the play was over) I get the impression that it wouldn't have been thrown if the ref even understood the play was ongoing and Laws was just trying to get up and happened to push on the guy as he did (which from what I know is completely legal).

Any news on whether or not heads rolled after that ridiculous overturn on the Grimes TD? Did the optometrist for the foagie looking at the replay have his license revoked?

F'n tree-huggers.

Not that we need to dwell on this topic any longer (remember that whiny coach from Southern California who is still crying about the length of the grass in 2005 even though they won).

But here is a story by the SBT re: some interesting comments by Pac-10 officials addressing the er... um... decisions... of the officials at the Stanford game: South Bend Tribune: No reversal of field by Pac-10 on Grimes 'non-catch.'

And a blog analyzing the responses: The House Rock Built

Also, I read other Pac-10 boards recently and if you think we think the Pac-10 officials are terrible, you should listen to the Pac-10 fans who get them for 9 games per year.

A crazy person often doesn't know they are crazy, and I doubt the stupid booth official accepts that he is stupid.... What a waste of life

Here's one from a different angle. I wonder if the replay official feels stupid.

wow, somebody should blow that pic up to poster size and send it to the replay guys house personally (sucks we dont know who he is, but I bet we could figure it out since he's got the thickest prescription glasses in america)

LOL, more great PAC-10 officiating

ESPN Video Beta

That TD reversal was just one of many calls that was reversed with replay. The comentators kept getting angry saying, "Those are calls they should be making on the field and not relying on the replay officials to make."

Funny thing is though, the replay officials seemed to make the right reversals and it was the on-field refs who were doing a terrible job missing late hits and incorrect fumble calls and good reception calls.

Shocking since the guys on the field were PAC-10 guys, and the replay guy would have been from the WAC.
