This actually somewhat concerns me because you never know how a team comes out after a coach gets fired. Are they gonna completely give up for the year OR are they gonna get inspired and play above their talent level. They should have waited a week. Damn!

The one concern is injuries. ND needs to keep it's Head on a swivel, SU being a dome team should be ND's advantage. The big question is Can the Irish complete a game without a turnover?

Add Greg Robinson to the ever growing pile of coaches whose NFL coaching experience wasn't applicable at the college level.

I keep wondering why NFL teams hire college coaches and why colleges keep hiring NFL coaches. It just doesn't work. In my lifetime, Jimmy Johnson has been the only *successful* college coach who became a *successful* NFL coach. Pete Carroll came to USC from the NFL but he was a god awful coach in the NFL.

Yes, Pete Carroll is a rah! rah! type of guy who the college kids can relate too. Makes him a great recruiter. He sucked here as coach of the N.E. patrots because that kind of stuff does no work in the NFL. I think the players despised him. Kind of like Rick Petino in basketball. The players despised him on the Celtics; however, he is great in college and a great recruiter for the same reason as Carroll.

And everything I hear from the USC people I know who are in good with the university sports dept is that once an NFL team comes to L.A. he'll be the coach in a heartbeat. And my only question is: why??????? Why in the hell would you leave that school where you can get anybody you want, get paid milions, live in this type of weather, and basically live as a God amongst mortals for the rest of your days? And yet he wants to go coach a bunch of spoiled multimillionaires who you have no idea whether they are going to give you everything they have in a game much less practice?

The answer: EGO. He failed as an NFL coach and he wants to prove he can be a great NFL coach. God I hope he goes to the NFL!!!

Are you serious....he's a bigger buffoon than I thought he was.

I'm convinced that Pete Carroll is nothing more than a great manager. I think his assistant coaches are excellent and he manages them. Unfortunately, a coach need be nothing more than a manager to be a successful. I have no doubt that CW's football mind is 10x greater than Carroll's....but maybe, the jury is still out, CW isn't as good at managing a program.

The only possible silver lining for weis is Belichek was a lousy coach for 5 years in Cleveland, and somehow developed into a genious at New England. I know I'm reaching but there's got to be some light at the end of this Abyss.

actually we'll be ahead by 3+ TD's at halftime and then charlie will call off the dogs and we'll win by a FG as time expires.

LOL, come on now we want it to be a good game right, its no fun unless theres a close finish with an extremely inferior team.
