What do you do for summer vacation?
I make a trip to the Jersey shore with the family. It's more out of convienence than personal preference. We go to Point Pleasant Beach. It's the closest beach we can drive to and with two kids under 5 lengthy car trips are not fun. The boardwalk is OK and there is good "beach pizza" there but the sand reminds of the infield dirt at Shea Stadium. But the kids love it. Some day I'll be brave enough to attempt the airport/plane trip experience with them - fly to St. Pete Beach, FL. That is about as close to heaven as I've come. By comparison the sand there is as white and fine as baby powder.
We also make weekly visits to Hershey Park. We have season passes and live less than 10 miles from the front gate. It's clean, has great rides for kids and a couple great roller coasters for parents.
As much as I can't wait for ND football to start, I hate the fact that it means the end of summer.
