I don't know about you guys, but LSU scares me alot. They have a ton of team speed and that is what has hurt us in all of our losses this calender year. Now, don't get me wrong, I think we can win this game, but we are going to have to play a better game than what we did against USC, we will have to convert our 4th and 3rd downs much more effectively and not turn the ball over (not to state the obvious).

we will have played 3 of the top four most talented teams in the nation this year..... Ughh! We have nothing to lose in this so I hope our boys play like it, go out and have fun, play loose and hopefully we shock the world. Les Miles vs. CW is a huge advantage but so is playing in new orleans. Hey if WVU could do it last year with two true freshman, we certainly could do it this year!!!!!

LSU's defense reminds me a lot of USC's defense mainly because of the great deal of team speed.

That's going to be the hardest part of the next month, the constant barrages of "we're gonna get killed". Maybe will will, maybe we won't, but it's a BCS bowl and ND has won 10 games this year. Win or lose, recruits notice that; in a good way. Urban may be in the NC, but since he and Charlie took over Urbs record is 20-4 and CW's is 19-5. And CW didn't start with the same talent as Urb.

UF is going to get spanked by tOSU.

If we can avoid the 3 td explosion in the first 9 minutes, we may be ok. Dwayne Jarrett doesn't play for LSU does he? Any other guys with a grudge because we stopped recruiting them because they were stupid?

Yeah, it usually helps whenever you aren't playing catch-up the entire game.

two words....ball control. if ND can't win the clock and limit LSU's possessions, it won't be much of a game.

But they also have a big, mobile quarterback, an element which we haven't seen all season.

Russell has also been known to fold in big games. He got over the hump against Tenn this year, but has a history of falling apart. Let's hope.

Our fans better get some tickets. While I don't expect have a large fanbase at the game but I hope they are pretty fair with ticket distrubution.

LSU is beatable...Russell can be a hot & cold QB. I hope Charlie comes up with a good game plan. I bet the Tigers will be pretty mad for getting passed over by the Rose Bowl

Yes. We did a much better job of this last year it feels like. We REALLY need the running game against these guys. Right up the gut, try to neutralize their speed advantage. DW doesn't have the speed to go east-west on LSU. If we can do that, BQ will have a field day once the run is established just a little.

Do you think perhaps with the extra prep time we could see Aldridge get more meaningful carries by any chance if we need a running back to run North/South?

Jamarcus Russell is mobile, but he isn't Michael Vick mobile. He is more of the Daunte Culpepper genre. Personally, I feel great about this game. You know how we all said, "well the seniors have never beaten USC?" Well, more importantly than that, NO player, manager, or coach has won a bowl game for Notre Dame. This will be the driving motivational factor for us. Their offense isn't what scares me. I feel, HONESTLY, this time we can contain their receivers. The trio is good, but not amazing. I am scared by one thing. This being that we are playing in New Orleans. We need a very large amount of fans to buy tickets to this game so we are not overwhelmed by all of the Tiger fans. All in all, despite our motivation about the USC game, I feel that we will win this game.

The last time we were in the Sugar Bowl was 92 and we were expected to get blown out by Florida. Beat them by 10! I remember Bettis having a great game. I can't wait until Jan 3rd!

We are screwed in that department. ND will probably get 5-15k tickets. The rest will be sold locally or something...

God, it's going to be loud as hell and it will be a HOSTILE environment. Do not think for one second that a bunch of ND fans are going to show up in the $hithole of a state and out-buy those LOO-ZEE-ANNA rednecks.

I am already hating this. We really shoulda had Florida to play.

I am so tired of us going into hostile environements...couldn't we for once play in Ohio or Indiana or something? Christ...
