Male, Independent who votes across party lines, and has some misgivings but doesn't see an overriding reason for rejection. As a woman Sotomayor represents the majority (sorry jason but in that regard we are both minorities), as an Hispanic she represents diversity, and now as Justice, she represents ALL of us.

I'm hoping that she rises above her public speaking comments of the past and votes as a Justice on the points of law. She'll be replacing a liberal judge so I don't expect a shift in the courts direction. Status quo.

As a woman Sotomayor represents the majority (sorry jason but in that regard we are both minorities).

Minority is not based on numbers but by who is in power so women are still "Minorities". The supreme court still has a conservative majority so it really will not make much of a difference in their decisions.
