Something I noticed about Golden Tate

He seems scared to go full speed on his kickoff returns. He seems to jog until it is too late. I would really like to see him make a quicker decision and explode. I just don't see him giving us any big returns unless he takes off the training wheels.

He's looking for lanes, AA does the same thing. They aren't scared, but they need to accelerate and hit it hard.

I disagree big time. The kid picks his way through the coverage team and very rarely goes down on first contact. He is the best return guy for the Irish and he is only a true freshman playing in his third game.

I understand that he is looking for lanes...but it still seems like he is capable of kicking it up another gear while looking. I look at the good kick returners in college football and they all seem to go full speed immediately when they catch the ball. I know Golden is young, but I am thinking that a good return or two could reallly kick start our team!
