Now is Brown just the DC, because I heard that he was also going to coach the secondary. As for the linebackers coach, I'm sure they've been busy trying lure away some recruits and haven't really had the time to look for the linebackers coach or with four teams still playing, one of which being the Patriots, maybe the new linebackers coach is on one of those staffs.

Now who does Weis put in Powlus's old spot?

Well I've been looking at all the articles and they all just list his position as Defensive coordinator. Now I'm not sure why he would coach the linebackers, he's mainly been a secondary and special teams coach. I would think that with linebackers being part of the defensive weakness, Coach Weis would want someone who's atleast coached linebackers before.

Only reason I asked about Brown coaching the secondary was because of a rumor that Lewis was going to retire. I really haven't heard anything about the other defensive coaches, I mean he hasn't said anything to the tune the others have been retained, maybe he figues by saying nothing about the other coaches that people will assume they are coming back. Wouldn't want to scare away the few defensive recruits we have.

What if Lewis agreed to stay another year? He and Weis clearly are a bit closer than some of the other coaches.

Could be the case, but I would still want a real linebacker coach, not a secondarty coach just covering until Lewis leaves. If we could get a a proven coach, we could start getting some of the elite linebacker recruits.
