My little sister is getting sent to the box. She is Class of '06 from the USMA at West Point. She is Airborne and currently a Second Lietenant. She just bought a house in Colorado Springs as she was stationed at Fort Carson.

A week ago, she was told she wasn't going to have to go until her unit got back in 6 months and then sent out again later. that changed last night. I was the first one she called. She wanted to know how to break it to our mother. Sure, we all expected it and knew it was coming, but not for several more months or so.

I really feel for my mother most of all. Her mother has recently been diagnosed with Pancreatic cancer which has already spread to her liver. The doctors gave her 6 months tops. Just adding that with my sister, her only daughter, being deployed to Iraq is just too much. Mom called me today crying her eyes out. I can't stand to see/hear her this way.

So, I guess what I'm getting at is, if anyone can throw a prayer her way, or any suggestions on how to help her through this time would be appreciated.

Thanks.

I'll be saying a prayer for your family and tell your sister thanks for her service.

Also send her a Semper Fi from a former marine.

I'm in too. I'll send out a prayer to your family tonight at youth/bible study.

One of my best friends will be leaving for boot in less than a month, and then he's off to Airborne school. Godspeed to your sister.

God Bless your sister and your whole family. My grandfather died of pancreatic cancer that spread over the summer. He was the biggest ND fan you will ever meet, so I certainly feel for you and your family. Also I am very grateful for your sister's service, she is a true hero.

I will put your sister and her mother on my prayer list. Send her a heartfelt "thank you" for serving this great country. Also, don't underestimate the power of prayer. I've seen people w/ terminal cancer end up going into remission w/ no medical explanation. I know prayer works. May God bless your family.

Sorry to hear your grandmother is ill. I wish your sister and family the best.
God Bless

Tell your sister to ignore the negative spin the media is putting on the participation in the war. I know the majority support her efforts and appreciate her service to our country.
