Michigan Oversigning
Michigan Oversigning
After a 2020 class of twenty-three, Michigan's scholarship count for 2020 is at 88 counting six walkons who have received scholarships previously. This does not count Ed Warinner's son who transferred in prior to last season. It also accounts for the transfer out of one of their class of 2020 - Aaron Lewis.
No announcements yet as to who will not be on the fall roster to get to 85. Not renewing scholarships to walkons Hunter Reynolds, S ('17), Jess Speight, DT ('17) and Will Hart, P ('16) puts them at 85.
Harbaugh seems on his way to a 2021 Class of 25. They have 21 verbal commits and are focusing on four more including Donavan Edwards, Drew Kendall at OG now that they have lost Rocco, and two DTs (Benny and Rooks). A RB, a OG and 2 DTs would fill out the rest of their needs per Michigan analysts. They have no commits at RB or DT and want one more OLman, preferablly OG.
It's gone to be weird if the season is canceled. Michigan has twelve Seniors/RS Seniors graduating and eleven RS Juniors - twenty-three. Would they say goodbye to all RS Jrs to make room for the 2021 class? That would include QB McCaffery, two starting OGs Stueber and Filiaga, DT Paea, and OLB Ross.
For the sake of argument if the season is canceled, the 2021 Class of twenty-five, joins twenty-two incoming freshmen from 2020 and seventeen RS Freshmen from 2019 total sixty-four players. Over half the roster will have no experience. Michigan currently has twenty-three Soph or RS Sophs, which puts them at 87. Add three true Juniors...
Strange brew, though I have this feeling that 'baugh may start yanking scholarship offers from a few verbals.
