With Spring practice over, the ND staff is heading out on the recruiting trail. From reading another board, it sounds that Mr. Blanton may be in for a visit from some coaches. Who are the priorities for the coaches going into this period? I'd love there to be progress in getting some top-level WRs and OLs. What do you think?

D-line and O-Line should be made a priority, I hope they visit Marcus Forston, Matt Patchan, Lane Clelland, Art Forst, Kenneth Page, and Haffis Williams.

I still think we need 1 or 2 stud receivers in this class. I'd like to see some WR visits going on.

I'd like to see the staff make a hard push towards some D line recruits, if we can land 2 solid d lineman I think this class would be amoung our best.

If Brice Butler announces for ND later this week, I think they'd only need to knock on one stud WR's door: Michael Floyd. Maybe Johnathan Baldwin or Wes Kemp, but point being, we'd only get one more scholarship receiver.

What a great time to be a Irish fan, who am I kidding every since Charlie showed up its been a nonstop mushroom trip for all Irish fans, (not the kind where u get freaked out and think your parents know exactly where your at and know what your doing) Charlie even makes it easier to cope with it being the offseason, if you follow recurting. Cheers and keep it up.

If he pulls the trigger anytime soon it'll be most likely be for ND. Also keep a close eye on Slaughter, Newman, and McCarthy.

I'm not sure any of them have a set time table for decision, with maybe the exception of Butler now if he really does decide this week. I just know that all 4 are supposedly really close, so it could be tomorrow, it could be a coule of weeks, or God forbid it might fall apart and might not happen at all. I don't think that's very likely though. For intance Newman was going to commit this weekend but then decided not to, because he wants to make sure he is 100% sure, McCarthy told Dayne Crist that if he commited to ND then he would be able to call him a teamate, because he would probably be follwing very soon, Butler's dad wants him to go to ND and he has said that ND will "Definitely" be one of his final schools, at this point it looks like it's going to be a USC v. ND battle, and then there's Slaughter, who' parents now want him to come to ND, he has said he doesn't mind the cold and he would get used to it, he made good friends with T.Smith, and M.Richardson, and it now looks like he wants to leave the state for college and ND's main competion is UGA, and GT.

You always have to remember though that they are just comming off of a great and really fun visit, and a high schools kid's mind can change multiple times in the span of a day, let alone a couple of weeks.

Here's a cool picture from McDonalds MySpace that was titled "the Future of ND". It was posted early last week after McDonald returned from his trip.

Both Swan and Cave helped get Fleming to pull the trigger on ND, and now all three of them were after Newman this weekend.

From left to right it's Swan, Braxton, Darius, and McDonald

They recruited him for OL, but he would prefer to play defense so you never know what'll happen, just look at Chris Stewart.
