Let me ask you this: Which ND coach came from a big time program before he came to ND?

HMMMM.....do u want me to name Ara or Lou..... oh wait u probably didnt want me to name the guys that won the National Championships did ya? Holtz was at NC state, Arkansas, Minnesota, and the New York jets before he came to ND. Parseghian was at Miami of Ohio and Northwestern before he came to Notre Dame.....all D1 programs before Notre Dame hired them. Oh yea and new york was professional. And Urban NEVER said he didnt believe in Notre Dame values, you are just trying to make the guy out to be bad with lies. I dont consider it a comprimise to get a proven coach, i just want Notre Dame to be like it was in the late 1980s and early 90s.....successful.

He did nothing of the sort. Look, I'm not the one calling for Meyer, I'm just stating the facts and being objective. He HARDLY told anyone to take a leap; thats your hyperbole kicking in. The FACTS are, in 04 he got two great offers (at least), and based on many reasons, chose Florida. If he'd told ND to take a flying leap, he wouldn't have come back on multiple occasions, not the least of which was his autobiography, to say he really wants to be ND coach one day.

Take your inability to be objective and leave it at home, okay. Its not necessay on this forum.

I personally would rather see Chris Johnson as the next HC. We'll see what the administration wants to do.

He had the opportunity for his dream job. He turned it down.

From what I heard he had already commited to coach at Florida, before ND offered. Sticking to your commitment seems pretty ND like to me.

That's a pretty broad brush you are painting with there, pal. I would say the board is pretty well split between those that:

1. Think Urban Meyer will be the man to bring ND football back to dominance, and will be the next Head Coach

2. Have varying opinions on Urban Meyer, but think there is no way he will leave Florida for ND.

and

3. Think he is a great coach, but not for ND.

I'll give you that....kmoose, your point is well taken. I'm still very disappointed on how Ty was treated, and CW was given the key to the city half way through his first season. He has a HUGE contract left, and I dont think he is going to leave without a HUGE payday...Urban Meyer had the chance to take the ND job, and turned it down, before he was offered the Florida Job...officially anyway. Either way,,he chose Florida, guess his dream was just a bad one...
