Practices on UND.com

I haven't missed one yet.
And they are like watching re-runs on television, pretty much.
But I do have one complaint for Coach Vaas. Although I have no business complaining about a man with his resume.
Why can't the receivers catch balls from the team's quaterbacks?
Granted, maybe they do later on in practice, that we don't see. Which would completely negate this criticism.
However, aside from the receiver cone drills that we often see, I don't understand why the quarterbacks aren't throwing balls to the receivers running short out and in routes.
Hell, we got four of 'em.
It seems to me it would benefit eveyone involved.
Of all the NFL practices that I've ever been to, both preseason and in-season, it's the quarterbacks themselves that throw the balls to receivers. Not the quarterback's coach or the receiver's coach, but the quarterbacks.
Just seems strange to me.

The NFL has unlimited practice time. The NCAA mandates how many hours of practice per day and per week. College practices are tightly scheduled and tightly scripted. Note the frequent air horns going off.

Remember the female manager in preseason scrimmages running onto the field between plays to spot the ball for the next play as opposed to waiting for the ball to be returned from downfield? And as she ran on the field she bellowed, "HUDDLE UP!" No wasted time. Maximize the time, squeeze in a few more plays in limited practice time. It also gets the players accustomed to time pressure.

Why have the 4 QBs throwing merry-go-round patterns to receivers warming up when Vaas or Weis could use that time making a point about foot work, arm motion etc as the 4 QBs throw to each other warming up and he can observe all of them and they can all hear him?

Why have Quinn throwing to walkon receivers when he needs to focus on communication with Samardzija so they both read the defenses the same and Shark cuts to the spot Quinn is throwing and not the other way which happened way too often in the first few games?

The media is only present for stretching and warmup drills. That's why the UND clip alwasy look similar. Then they vacate the field. That's when the interaction between positions and the real practice takes place.

Excellent BGIF, I'll buy it.
