Play of the Game?

If ever there were 'A game of big plays' it was this one.

My pick:

4th & 1.. I believe on our own 40 or somewhere around there. Play-action, Quinn throws down-field to Carlson for a 30-40 yard gain, and sets us up for the 2nd TD... right? The chronology of the game has been completely lost on me.

But that was the ballsiest play-call I've seen in a while.. well, since we kept going for it on 4th down in the USC game last year, I guess.

It's a reason why guys want to come and play for this coach. He's aggressive. He's not afraid to put his trust into a bunch of 18-22 year old guys. And also, he recognizes that the it's-4th-down-so-punt orthodox Church can be wrong, even in the 2nd quarter.

I know there were many others, but I still have to say the INT return. although I know without others, that play never would have happened.

Yeah, it freaked me out. I could have sworn Thomas had the ball and it looked like the MSU D-line was getting a hell of a lot of penetration.

Then I was just afraid Carlson would drop it.

Agree, but I'm not impressed with the fact we went for it. I'm impressed with the play call. Like it or not, Charlie had become a bit predictable. He turned it around right there. Possibly a season changing moment, not just a game changing moment.

Yeppers!! Huge call...this is why we need Charlie Weis. For moments EXACTLY like those that help win games.
