Right now the standings in the Big East are as follows:

Pitt: 10-1
ND: 9-3
G'town: 8-4
Nova: 7-4
L'ville: 7-4

A win by Nova would be huge for our Big East regular season title chances, as a win by us over USF this weekend and a Pitt loss would put us just .5 a game back with the tiebreaker for 1st favoring us. We would still be comfortably in 2nd place as well, as we have already beaten 2 of the 3 teams that are one loss behind us.

On the flip side, a win by Pitt over Nova would essentially take us out of the running for 1st place, as Pitt's schedule is fairly favorable the rest of the way, and they would need to lose 2 more games than us the rest of way which is extremely unlikely. However, a win by Pitt would be beneficial to us for the fact that it would essentially ensure us finishing 2nd in the conference. Another Nova loss would make G'town and L'ville the only teams one loss behind us with us owning the tiebreaker over both of them. In other words, we could finish 5-1 and guarantee ourselves 2nd place in the conference, while 4-2 could also easily make us #2.

I would love to see Nova knock off Pitt and have us just .5 game of 1st, but a win by Pitt would not be the worst thing either.

Can't believe how well Gtown has rebounded from a slow start this year. Imagine if they didn't start 1-4. I honestly don't think Nova or Louisville are anything special this year, and UConn is done if Walker or Lamb have a bad game. Syracuse should be the best of those 4, but they don't show up to play every night. Wierd year for the Big East IMO, a lot of good teams, but all with significant flaws, yet they are better than the flawed teams in all the other conferences, sans OSU, Kansas, Texas and Duke.

IDK I still think the two best teams in the country are Kansas and Duke.

I would have agreed with you a week or two ago, but Texas has come on really strong, and it's hard to discount a team that hasn't lost and has such a stud inside player. It's not like Ohio State has a bad tournament record either in the past. That's an easy final four to pick, but I truly believe they are the best 4 teams in the nation right now. Just have to wait and see what happens from here, how the teams play and how the brackets shape up.

You are correct, but I'm always hesitant on Texas. They have had good teams in the past and burned me in the tournament. I'm not going to believe in Texas until I actually see them make a final four. Sullinger is a beast!

I just love me some Canadian Texan players.

Ha funny you should mention that. I have been to the Providence club he has been a DJ for a few times. Always a good time, he is the only one of those people I wouldn't mind drinking with.

I want to win the Big East. We can take care of Nova later this season when the time comes. If we can win out (unlikely, but certainly doable) we will win the Big Beast.
