Many have noticed that 8 of our 11 commits thus far have composite ratings at .88 or below (solid 3* types).
Without going crazy and without ignoring this fact. I think it's important to observe that some of these rankings will rise by commitment day.
I was under the assumption that this class would be a little smaller than years past, leading to more selectivity and less 3* types. In fact, it appears to be closer to 2011 when 11 of 23 met this criteria.
I think it's interesting to observe the following:
In previous classes we had the following number of commits at or below this number (not including K/P/LS)... (starters)
2014 6
2013 4 (Corey Robinson)
2012 6 (CJ Prosise, Chris Brown, Romeo Okwara)
2011 11 (Matthias Farley, Conor Hanratty, Cam McDaniel, Nick Martin, Jarrett Grace)
2010 18 (Austin Collinsworth, Bennett Jackson, Tommy Rees, Prince Shembo)
2009 5 (Carlo Calabrese, Dan Fox, Tyler Eifert, Roby Toma)
2008 4 (Kapron Lewis-Moore, Mike Golic Jr.)
2007 7 (Taylor Dever, Brian Smith, Ian Williams)
2006 12 (John Ryan, Sergio Brown)
So in 9 years there is data to consider on 73 commitments with this criteria.
While using a little bit of projecting about the most recent classes...
I would identify the following -
Solid Multi-Year Starters: 14
NFL caliber or oustanding players: 6 or 7
